L\u2019utilisateur cherchait, Google affichait, et la transaction se r\u00e9alisait ailleurs, que ce soit sur le site de l\u2019h\u00f4tel ou, trop souvent, sur des plateformes interm\u00e9diaires comme Booking.com ou Expedia. Ce mod\u00e8le \u00e9tabli depuis des ann\u00e9es est sur le point de changer de mani\u00e8re structurelle avec l\u2019expansion du Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) au secteur h\u00f4telier.<\/p>\n<p>Le UCP n\u2019est pas une mise \u00e0 jour cosm\u00e9tique de Google Hotels, mais un changement d\u2019architecture dans la relation entre le moteur de recherche et l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me commercial qui l\u2019entoure. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les annonces et les r\u00e9sultats de Google fonctionnaient comme des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant de l\u2019intention, mais d\u00e9l\u00e9guant la conversion \u00e0 des tiers. Avec le UCP, Google permet que la transaction soit finalis\u00e9e directement dans ses interfaces, y compris dans la recherche assist\u00e9e par intelligence artificielle et l\u2019assistant Gemini.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Du moteur de recherche \u00e0 l\u2019agent transactionnel<\/h4>\n<p>Le protocole \u00e9tablit un standard technique permettant aux syst\u00e8mes de r\u00e9servation d\u2019un h\u00f4tel, son moteur de r\u00e9servation ou CRS, de se connecter directement aux agents d\u2019IA de Google. Le UCP \u00e9limine une grande partie de cette friction en int\u00e9grant les donn\u00e9es de paiement de l\u2019utilisateur, stock\u00e9es dans Google Pay, avec l\u2019inventaire de l\u2019h\u00f4tel en temps r\u00e9el. Le r\u00e9sultat est une exp\u00e9rience d\u2019achat qui peut \u00eatre finalis\u00e9e en deux \u00e9tapes. Encore plus pertinent est le sc\u00e9nario des \u00ab agentic user journeys \u00bb. Dans le nouveau paradigme de recherche bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019IA, l\u2019utilisateur n\u2019interagit plus avec une liste de r\u00e9sultats, mais avec un assistant qui interpr\u00e8te, filtre et ex\u00e9cute. Si le syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9servation d\u2019un h\u00f4tel n\u2019est pas lisible par cet agent, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire s\u2019il n\u2019impl\u00e9mente pas le UCP, cet h\u00f4tel n\u2019existera tout simplement pas dans cette couche de recherche.<\/p>\n<p>Le secteur h\u00f4telier d\u00e9bat depuis des ann\u00e9es de la mani\u00e8re de r\u00e9duire sa d\u00e9pendance aux grandes plateformes de distribution, qui pr\u00e9l\u00e8vent des commissions de 15 \u00e0 25 pour cent par r\u00e9servation. Bien que Google n\u2019ait pas encore clairement d\u00e9fini si le mod\u00e8le de mon\u00e9tisation du UCP sera bas\u00e9 sur une commission, un co\u00fbt par clic ou une combinaison des deux, les h\u00f4teliers qui adopteront le protocole \u00e0 un stade pr\u00e9coce b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront d\u2019un avantage de positionnement dans un environnement o\u00f9 la visibilit\u00e9 sera disput\u00e9e dans des conditions plus \u00e9quilibr\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Les risques \u00e0 ne pas ignorer<\/h4>\n<p>L\u2019adoption du UCP n\u2019est pas sans contreparties, puisqu\u2019il existe trois axes de risque que toute entreprise h\u00f4teli\u00e8re doit \u00e9valuer avant d\u2019avancer. Lorsque la transaction se d\u00e9roule dans l\u2019environnement de Google, les informations que l\u2019h\u00f4tel re\u00e7oit sur le client peuvent \u00eatre limit\u00e9es. La capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9tablir une relation directe avec le client et \u00e0 alimenter des programmes de fid\u00e9lisation avec des donn\u00e9es propres d\u00e9pendra des conditions que Google fixera pour le transfert d\u2019informations. Le mod\u00e8le de tarification de Google pour le UCP d\u00e9terminera si ce canal est plus ou moins efficient que les OTAs traditionnelles. Si le protocole devient le standard dominant de la distribution en ligne, le pouvoir de n\u00e9gociation du secteur h\u00f4telier face \u00e0 la plateforme pourrait se r\u00e9duire, reproduisant une dynamique similaire \u00e0 celle observ\u00e9e aujourd\u2019hui avec les OTAs, mais avec un acteur de plus grande envergure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Que faire maintenant ?<\/h4>\n<p>La posture la plus intelligente pour une entreprise h\u00f4teli\u00e8re \u00e0 ce stade n\u2019est ni l\u2019adoption imm\u00e9diate ni l\u2019inaction. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape consiste \u00e0 dialoguer avec le fournisseur du moteur de r\u00e9servation ou CRS pour savoir s\u2019il participe aux groupes de travail de Google sur le UCP. La mise en \u0153uvre technique repose sur ces syst\u00e8mes, et les h\u00f4teliers qui ne poussent pas leurs fournisseurs technologiques aujourd\u2019hui risquent de prendre du retard lorsque le protocole atteindra une adoption \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. La deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tape est de v\u00e9rifier l\u2019int\u00e9gration avec Google Pay.
